Abstract:

Rich Internet Applications in Java have never been easier to produce than they will be with the forthcoming release of Java 6 Update N. Improvements to the Java plugin, the deployment experience, Applets, Swing, SwingLabs, and Java2D combine to make it easy to produce rich internet applications in Java.

Presenter: Richard Bair

Richard Bair is lead developer of the open source SwingLabs project, member of the Swing team, and chief funky demo writer. He is a regular speaker at JavaOne, JavaPolis, and fairly regular on the JavaPosse and various JUGs. His background is in data-oriented multi-tier rich client programming. He is currently working on the Nimbus look and feel and various APIs for the JavaFX platform.
