Abstract:
This session covered an update on SOA as it applies to Java developers. It covered the challenges associated with moving to an SOA as well as some of the ongoing standards activities in this space. Steve also looked at some open source projects such as GlassFish, Tango and Open ESB.

Steve has been in the software group at Sun Microsystems Ltd for 14 years and focuses on Java, Web Services, SOA and developer tools in his current role as Product and Technology Specialist. His 25 years of experience in the IT business include time as a developer, in the ISV world and with Sun and have resulted in a range of experience with distributed computing architectures such as CORBA, Jini, Java EE and Web Services/SOA. Steve has been involved with Java since before it went public in 1995.
