IJTC 2007: Optimising Microsoft SQL Server on the Java Platform

Abstract:

This session will contain tips on how to tune and optimise interaction with SQL Server. Topics include: Profiling tools, Measuring Performance, Optimising JDBC calls, bulk options, common pitfalls and sql server programmability features to improve performance and reduce development time.

Presenter: Bob Duffy

Bob Duffy is a Senior Consultant for Microsoft Consulting Services focusing on SQL Server and Business Intelligence. He is a 15 year veteran of the database sector in Ireland, having worked as a developer, consultant and architect on some of Ireland largest SQL Server projects.

Bob lives in Sandyford, Dublin with his wife and four children (all under 5!). In his spare time he likes to entertain children, play with SQL Server and is a big UFC fan.
