Application lifecycle management in a Java/.NET environment

Abstract:

Delivering quality software on-time is hugely difficult - only 30% of software projects over the last 10 years have been classed as "Successful". Larger team sizes and a heterogeneous environment can lower productivity, increasing the overhead of management, co-ordination and communication between organisational/technical "silos". For developers this frequently translates to too much time spent on process rather than coding. In this session we will examine a low-overhead approach which enables development teams to collaborate effectively (irrespective of technology), while measurably improving quality, clarity and efficiency.

Presenter: Ronan Geraghty

Ronan is a member of the Developer and Platform Group in Microsoft Ireland, and has been working with Microsoft technologies for over 11 years, from COM through the various releases of .Net. He has a particular interest in development processes and how tools can support those processes to make the development of high quality software more deterministic, predictable and consistent.
