Abstract: In this session, Guillaume Laforge will introduce the audience to the Groovy dynamic language, explaining its syntax, its powerful features, and showing how well it integrates with Java EE applications, or how you can easily write Domain-Specific Language with it, thanks to its malleable syntax and advanced meta-programming capabilities.

This session will also be the occasion for presenting the novelties present in Groovy 1.1, the new version of the language that adds Java 5 features to the mix, making Groovy the sole dynamic language for the JVM that fully supports enterprise frameworks like Spring or Hibernate.

Guillaume is the Groovy Project Manager, and Spec Lead of JSR-241, the Java Specification Request standardizing the Groovy dynamic language.

Guillaume is also the Vice President Technology of G2One, the company dedicated to the development of Groovy and Grails, offering professional services around those technologies (training, support, and consulting).
