Abstract:

Building on the shoulders of the Groovy dynamic language for the JVM and other giants like Spring and Hibernate, the Grails web application framework simplifies the development of new and innovative applications by offering a fully integrated stack and an improved developer experience. In this session, Guillaume Laforge, initiator of Grails and Groovy project manager, will introduce you to Grails, detailing the different layers and features, and demonstrating how to build your first Grails application in matter of minutes.

Guillaume is the Groovy Project Manager, and Spec Lead of JSR-241, the Java Specification Request standardizing the Groovy dynamic language.

Guillaume is also the Vice President Technology of G2One, the company dedicated to the development of Groovy and Grails, offering professional services around those technologies (training, support, and consulting).
