Abstract:

Java on the desktop is experiencing a renaissance and today you can produce fast, efficient and beautiful applications with Swing. This session covers some of the techniques needed to get the most from Swing and Java2D.

Presenter: Richard Bair

Richard Bair is lead developer of the open source SwingLabs project, member of the Swing team, and chief funky demo writer. He is a regular speaker at JavaOne, JavaPolis, and fairly regular on the JavaPosse and various JUGs. His background is in data-oriented multi-tier rich client programming. He is currently working on the Nimbus look and feel and various APIs for the JavaFX platform.
